Privacy Policy
How the WILDSUITS app and the wildsuits.net website handle your information. Short version: we don’t collect it.
In short
- WILDSUITS has no account and no sign-up.
- Everything you enter in the app is stored only on your iPhone. We never receive it.
- The app requests no system permissions: no location, contacts, camera, photos, Health or notifications.
- No analytics, advertising, tracking or crash reporting. The app does not send data anywhere.
- This website uses no cookies and no analytics.
1. Who we are
The WILDSUITS app and the website wildsuits.net are provided by WILDSUITS, 23 Rue de Bel-Air, 44680 Sainte-Pazanne, France (“WILDSUITS”, “we”, “us”). For the limited personal data we do handle (support emails, described below), WILDSUITS is the data controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). You can reach us at tide@wildsuits.net.
2. Information in the app
WILDSUITS works without an account. The information you enter is saved locally on your device so that the app can work for you:
| What | Where it is stored |
|---|---|
| App settings (for example interface language and preferences) | Only on your iPhone |
| My Gear inventory (wetsuits and accessories you add) | Only on your iPhone |
| Sessions, session history and notes | Only on your iPhone |
| Checklist ticks and care routine marks | Only on your iPhone |
| Thermal comfort notes | Only on your iPhone |
Gear recommendations are calculated on your device from the information you entered. We have no server that receives this information and we cannot see, access, sell or share it.
Your thermal comfort notes describe how warm or cold you felt in a given kit. They stay on your device like everything else, and are not linked to any health service.
3. Permissions and location
The app does not ask for any system permission. It has no access to your location, contacts, camera, photo library, Apple Health or notifications.
When you describe where a session takes place, that place is simply free text that you type, for example the name of a beach. The app does not determine your position and does not use GPS.
4. No analytics, advertising or tracking
WILDSUITS contains no analytics tools, no advertising, no third-party tracking and no crash-reporting services. The app does not send your data anywhere.
If you have chosen to share diagnostic information with app developers in your iPhone settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymous reports under Apple’s own privacy terms. This is controlled by you in iOS and is not something the app collects.
5. Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your iPhone until you delete it. You can edit or remove entries in the app, and deleting the app deletes all of its data from the device.
Depending on your iOS settings, backups of your device (to iCloud or to a computer) may include the app’s data. Those backups are created and managed by Apple and by you under your own settings, not by WILDSUITS. Restoring a backup may restore the app’s data.
6. This website
wildsuits.net is a simple informational site. It does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, external fonts or third-party scripts, and it has no forms. We do not collect personal data through it.
Like any website, the server hosting it may automatically process technical information needed to deliver pages and keep the site secure, such as your IP address and browser type, in short-lived server logs. We do not use this information to identify or profile visitors.
7. Support emails
If you email us at tide@wildsuits.net, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply to you and to handle your request. We do not add you to any mailing list and we do not share your message with third parties, apart from our email service provider, which stores messages on our behalf.
Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering your question (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), or taking steps at your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). We keep support messages only as long as needed to resolve your request and any follow-up, and then delete them. Please do not send sensitive information we do not need.
8. Children
WILDSUITS is not directed to children under 13. In France, children under 15 need the consent of a parent or guardian for online services that process personal data on the basis of consent. Because the app does not collect personal data, we do not knowingly receive data from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal data by email, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Because app data is stored only on your device, you can exercise these rights directly in the app or by deleting it. For support emails, contact us at tide@wildsuits.net and we will respond within one month.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In France this is the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL), 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, www.cnil.fr.
10. International transfers
We do not transfer app data anywhere, because we never receive it. Support emails are handled by our email provider; if that involves processing outside the European Economic Area, it is covered by the safeguards required by the GDPR.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how WILDSUITS handles information, we will update this page and the “Last updated” date above. If the app ever starts collecting data, we will tell you clearly before it happens.
